Where the adventure began

You're moving where?? That's crazy! That was the reaction I received countless times, before my big move from Sconnie to Las Vegas. Everybody said my Mom and I couldn't possibly drive a 22-foot moving Penske truck, with a flatbed on the back for my little Land Rover. But on September 17th, we took off, truck loaded and 2 cats in the cab with us! "We'll show 'em....we'll drive this monster across the country and we'll do it well!" That's my Mom for ya-she let nothing stand in her way.

Goodbye Madison, WI, State St., Lao Laan Xang, Capital Brewery and Capital Square, Milwaukee, Miller Park, Summerfest, lakes and Harley Davidson Rallies....I will miss you!!

This blog was the idea of a very dear friend, and is created in memory of a very special person, my Mom. It's made up of fashion, food, family, friends, life and love. "You are going to remember this moment for the rest of your life," was how the conversation began in November 2008,"I have Leukemia." The rest is a blur. I sat on the sidewalk, in disbelief and tears, wondering how the sun could still be shining on such a dark day. I watched my beautiful Mom gracefully fight the battle against an ugly disease for 2 months following that day. On February 6, 2009, her body may have left us, but her spirit certainly has not. And now the sun shines on.
How my blog got its name:
Mom and I arrived in Las Vegas just a few days before I started work. While I started my new job on Monday, she continued the work at my new home. When I came home that day, I found a sweet note on my kitchen counter and a bowl of hard-boiled eggs in the fridge, with a "Mom note,"....."We are hard-boiled :) " I love egg salad, and it's something she made for me all the time for school lunches. And I hated boiling them myself, because I could never get it just right.

After she died, I laminated the egg sign and the note. Such treasures they are now.
